Orlando to the World Salsa Championship in
2008 in Orlando, Fl. Paid for by the New York
Salsa Congress. Full passes, meals and hotel
accommodations will be paid for by the Salsa
Seven Inc.

place: $500 Cash
The
New York Salsa Congress will be conducting
our own dance contest with a grand total of
$5000 prize money. Competition breeds Excellency
and now it’s time to take your salsa
dancing and creativity to the next level.
This
competition is only open to Professional couples:
(Dancers 18 yr. and over who receives money
for teaching. This division is for the experienced
competitor and the professional instructors.
For the purpose of this convention, experienced
competitors are defined as anyone who competes
in an advanced level or above division in four
(4) or more competitions a year. Cash prizes
and trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and
3rd places). Male lead and female follow wither
you dance On1, On2 etc.
OPEN
DIVISION: Rhythm and timing must be maintained
consistently throughout the performance. A
Maximum of 3 Dips, Drops or Flares allowed
in the Solo performance only. For these skills,
a minimum of 1 foot must remain on the floor
at all times. No Dips, Drops or Flares permitted
during the heated performances. Shines are
permitted although not more than 30% of the
performance may consist of shines or side by
sides. Solo performances must consist of 70%
Salsa dancing.

2.
Competitors and attendees must have a weekend
pass and are required to fill out a registration
form and sign liability waiver compliance.
If both dancers of the partnership have a Full
Pass VIP Package, then the registration fee
is waived. If one person has a Full Pass VIP
Package, then the other partner will only have
to pay.
3.
All competitors will receive a number to be
which they will be responsible to keep through
the duration of this particular competition.
4.
All competitors consent to release the use
of their photographs, biographies, and names,
for any video or television footage for sale.
5.
All solo competitors will supply their own
music on CD.
6.
The minimum/maximum time allowed for all solo
competitors includes entrance and exit, with
or without music. Solo routines should be no
less than 2½ minutes and no more than
3 ½ minutes.
7.
If there are fewer than five couples, the NYSC
reserves the right to cancel.
8.
The head judge and NYSC committee will have
final say on all discrepancies. All questions
and/or disputes should be brought to the attention
of the head judge in writing (NYSC will supply
a form for this purpose, if needed).
9.
Absolutely no private filming, video cameras,
photography and/or sales of videos/tapes will
be allowed at any time without written permission
of the NYSC organizers.
10.
Registration is $150 per person and includes
the Full Evening Pass.
11.
No casual or everyday clothing is allowed.
12.
Attire shall be appropriate for the performance. |
