Day Weekend. August 27 th – August
31, next year in 2008
Can I book a room at the Hilton New York?
Yes
you can and is highly recommended. Press the Hotel
button on the Navigation bar and it will take you
to our portal so you can book your room by just
using your credit card.
Do I have to stay at the Hilton?
No
but with the every day dancing and excitement from
9am to 4am(the next morning), it’s highly
recommended. Just think about it. You can wake
up early in the morning and take the elevator down
stairs in no time so you can start attending workshops.
And when we finish partying at 4 am every morning
you can go right upstairs just as quick as you
came down to take the workshops. Booking your room
at the Hilton is not only for your convenience
but your safety also. TIP# 1 Get together with
a couple of friends and split the cost 3 or 4 ways.

Is there an age limit
to attend the New York Salsa Congress?
Absolutely
not. People from all ages and walks of life are
welcome to join.
Do I have to be Spanish or a hardcore
Salsero/a to attend?
No. One of the reasons
that we produce this event is to expose non-salsa
congress goers to a new form or music and dance so
they could come aboard and join the fun also in the
years to come. One again people from all walks of
life are welcome to join. As long as you do have
a open mind and ready and will to learn or be exposed
to new and different things.
Where can I buy a Full Pass VIP Package
to the New York Salsa Congress
You can buy
passes online by pressing the Registration button
in the navigation bar near the top of the website
or in person by calling Choco and arranging to meet
him in person or attend the Mambo Fateegz Salsa Fridays
social that is held the 1 st, 3 rd, and sometimes
5 th Friday of the month at Dance New York Studio-
237 W54th St. on the 3 rd FL. between Broadway and
8 th ave from 9pm – 2am.
You get in Free to the social if your Full Pass
VIP Package that night only. We accept Cash, Credit
Cards, Travelers Checks, and Money Orders.
When
should I buy my Full Pass VIP Package?
You
should buy it ASAP because the long you wait
the more expensive it gets. Check out the

What is a Full Pass VIP Package?
The
Full Pass VIP Package is the Ultimate Salsa Congress
Package only available at the New York Salsa Congress.
Not only does this give you Full and All access
from August 28 th – August
31, you get a lot of perks that can be seen on
the Rate Page including Free t-shirt, bag and Video
of 2008’s Salsa Congress after it is produced.

Why
Should I Buy a Full Pass VIP Package
Because
the Full
Pass VIP Package is the Bentley of all
Salsa passes given at any Salsa Congress. Almost
like a membership only offered at the New York
Salsa Congress. Gets you more then just
workshops. Click on the link above for
details.
After I buy my pass will it be mailed
to me?
Salsa Congress passes will not be
mailed to you but. With proper ID a wristband will
be given to you at the Online Registrant Booth when
you arrive on the days of the event at the Hilton
Hotel and will be your pass for the whole weekend.
Do I have to keep my wristband on all weekend?
You must keep your wristband on at all times unless
you are sure that you aren’t coming back.
If your wristband breaks then you will have to
buy a new one. No EXCEPTIONS. In other words, don’t
break it or take it off.
Performances
What time does each performance start?
The
Afternoon performances start at 6pm Sharp Friday,
Saturday and Sunday. The night performances start
at 9pm Sharp.
How
early do I need to get there for the evening performances?
The evening performances begin promptly at 9:00pm
so we suggest that you get there around 8:00 -
8:30pm as general seating is first come first serve. This
will also give yourself additional time if
you have not purchased tickets for the show in
advance.
Can I videotape the performances?
There will
be absolutely NO videotaping allowed during the
afternoon and evening shows.
Is there a dress code?
No, there
is no dress code in effect but we suggest that you
Dress to Impress during the evenings
Workshops
Do
I need or have to come in with my own partner?
No,
come as you are. The class rotates so everyone
gets a chance to dance or try the Partner pattern
if they isn't enough of you. You
also rotate so everyone gets a chance to meet
each other.
Can I videotape during the workshops?
There
is no videotaping during the time in which the instructor
is teaching. You will be given the opportunity to
videotape at the end of the class if the instructor
allows it.
What should I wear?
We recommend
that you dress as comfortable as possible. Some of
these workshops can be intense. Mambo Fateegz INC
will be on premise so good workout clothing will
be available for sale
How do I know what workshop I should take?
There are also numerous workshops geared to all
levels. Each participant is encouraged to choose
any workshop they are interested in; challenge
yourself and have fun!
Am I able to pay for individual workshops?
Do I need to stay for the entire workshop once it
is in progress?
No. You can only buy a
day of workshops. You can buy a whole day of workshops
then choose to only take certain ones.
Is there limited space for workshop attendance?
Yes. When we reach a number of Full Pass VIP Packages
we will close cancel because we do not want the
workshops being over filled. Buy your pass now
and early so you don’t get locked out.
Is there a locker room on the premise
where we could change or shower up if we choose
to stay for the whole day?
No. We suggest
if you commit to coming to the New York Salsa
Congress that you book a room. It seems like
a lot of money but think of the total comfort
or showering, resting and changing your clothes
at your convenience. |
