First, we’d like to thank all you for being a part of this year’s 11th Annual New York International Salsa Congress. Moving on, we are doing things a little different and would like all of you to be onboard. This is very important that you read so please take your time and do so.
It is very important and mandatory that every team member attends TECH REHEARSAL. Your team will not be allowed to perform if any member is missing regardless if you are a pro, semi pro, or student team. Please look at the Performances page under the Schedule tab and see what time slot your team is scheduled to perform. Next, go to the Schedule of Events page under the Schedule tab and see what time your scheduled Tech Rehearsal/Registration time slot is. All teams must be present and wait until your team is finished tech then you can leave.
There are 2 time slots available that are both in the evening. 1 is 6:00 PM and the other is 9:00 PM. On the Performances page you will see the time slot that was allotted to you. These time slots are not permanent. Those who don’t belong at the 9:00 PM time slot, won’t be at the 9:00 PM slot. To keep yourself at the 9:00 PM slot first your team must be at Tech on time or else you are not even performing. Next and most important, you must show that you really belong there. During tech, keep it quiet; give it you’re all showing Mr. Johnny Matos our Production Manager that you deserve that time slot. One of our goals is to have less but quality shows giving our attendees a reason to sit and watch for 1 ½ hours. We don’t want to upset them.
Please make sure that you have read the details that are on the Registration Form thoroughly that you filled out to register your team earlier in the year and shared it with your team members. If you are a team member and are reading and/or hearing about this form for the first time then please make sure you know the details, pass it on to your other team members and then confront your team director on why he or she was not responsible enough to get you this information.
As for the 2012 New York International Salsa Congress, please don’t assume that we know you are coming back. You will be responsible to let us know that you want to come perform by going to the Request to Perform Page on and after December 1, 2011. This auditioning period will only be open from December 1 – June 1. As of next year due to life changes and the economy, each team member including director will be required to pay a registration fee that will allow you to attend the whole event. We look forward to working with you.
Thank You
Team NYISC 2011
