The New York Salsa Congress Survival Challenge
which was launched at the 7th Annual New York
Salsa Congress is designed primarily for the
average Joe or Jane, meaning a typical spectator/
Salsa Congress attendee. To give you either
him or her a chance to solve their curious
thoughts of would they be strong willed enough
and/or have what it takes to survive on stage.
Lastly it gives you either him or her that
once in a lifetime experience of being taught
a choreography by one of the best in the business
and then showing everyone what they have learned
on stage. As we move on and get ready for the
8th Annual New York Salsa Congress, we are
proud to announce the 2 nd Annual New York
Salsa Congress Survival Challenge. Year 1 has
passed and we are looking for another few good
men and women that are ready to be challenged.
(2007's contestants are welcome to join us
again.) Once again, we understand if you don't
have what it takes or just scared, this is
New York, ya know. Please remember that anyone
and everyone is welcome to join. Don’t
think about it, just do it.

Upon arrival, you will meet
your instructor Ismael Otero(yes folks
he’s back with Shani) and other team
members at the Hilton New York Hotel on
the 3rd FL. near the registration area
on Thursday at 6:00 PM, August 28, or Friday
at 5:00 PM August 29, 2008 and be taught
a choreography within 4-5 days between
the hours of 5:00PM - 7:00PM each day and
have a chance to perform it live on stage
on Sunday of the 8th Annual New York Salsa
Congress. At first your group will perform
for the Sunday afternoon show, just to
break the ice and in preparation for your
grand finale in the Sunday evening professional
showcase. Only the strong survives in New
York. If the streets don’t get you,
then the SALSA will.
Requirements
for participation are the person must at
least know their timing and master the basic
step. He or she must never have danced on
a semi pro or pro team before. The maximum
number of people per group/s will be determined
upon of agreement between us. In return each
participant will receive a personalized certificate
of achievement, and a Full Pass VIP Package
with gives you all access to everything involved
with this event (Highly Recommended). |
Please Note: Don’t worry, the schedule
times that you are being taught the Choreography
is after the daily workshops and before the
evening events.
